From the administrative offices to the lecture halls, artificial intelligence (AI) is changing how institutions operate, how educators teach, and how research is conducted—but not without raising critical questions.
On October 2nd 2024, the Higher Ed Technology Professionals Meetup group gathered for a virtual event to explore both the exciting benefits and the significant challenges that AI brings to higher education. We were joined by Ben Gaucherin, Campus Services Director at Harvard University; Frank Hughes, Chief Information Officer at Cape Cod Community College; Lori Landay, Professor of Visual Culture & New Media Studies at Berklee College of Music; David LaPorte, Senior Director of Integration and Innovation at Harvard University; Sia Najafi, Associate Chief Information Officer at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, who shared their personal experiences, provided advice, and answered questions from the rest of the attendees.
